Series 7 Part 2 BBCA Launch Trailer Breakdown
It’s time to now take an in-depth look at the recent BBC America trailer for Series 7 Part 2.
NOTE: As this trailer reuses a large amount of scenes from before, they have been omitted from this breakdown. For further analysis on those scenes see the very first trailer breakdown.
We see a close-up shot of the Mummy from The Rings of Akhaten…
…as it breaks free from captivity. The episode synopsis revealed that the Doctor visits Akhaten during the “Festival of Offerings”. Presumably the young Queen of Years will be offered to the Mummy.
Clara: “Doctor, are we going to be okay?”
Doctor: “Oh yes…”
Clara “Is that a lie?”
Doctor: “Possibly”
Clara and the Doctor are tied up on the Russian submarine in a scene from Cold War. The closest crew member is James Norton who plays Onejin.
No doubt this is the room where the Ice Warrior is imprisoned. An earlier BBC trailer showed Clara in this room with her eyes shut.
Clara: “WHAT’S HAPPENING?!”
Guest star David Warner was originally rumoured to be playing an Ice Lord in Cold War. It looks as though that rumour hasn’t come true as he can been seen in the background here.
Clara hugs the Doctor.
He still looks concerned though. He is the Doctor though.
Doctor: “I look at you every single day and I don’t understand a thing about you!”
Doctor: “You’re the impossible girl.”
It’s those statues again from the ghost episode Hide…
Doctor: “The only mystery worth solving.”
Clara looks like she is being stalked here, presumably by the Ice Warrior.
Doctor: “HANG ONNNNNN!”
Doctor: “What are you eh? A trick? A trap?”
This shot shows the lower part of the TARDIS console room shortly before it explodes.
This is from The Bells of Saint John. In the foreground you can see one of the Spoonheads, which the Doctor investigates.
Given the clothing, this scene is from The Crimson Horror. Clara is grabbed here and the prisoner’s arm is very red, presumably explaining the episode’s title. Diana Rigg’s character is experimenting on the villagers.
We then see a couple more shots of the dark forest from the BBC1 launch trailer. See the other trailer breakdown for more speculation on this.
And that’s a wrap for another trailer breakdown.
