Doctor Who Up for NTAs
The final shortlist for the 2011 National Television Awards has been revealed and Doctor Who has been nominated in two categories.
Matt Smith is up for Best Drama Performance against Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), David Jason (A Touch of Frost) and Philip Glenister (Ashes to Ashes). While Doctor Who is nominated for Best Drama against Sherlock, Waterloo Road and Shameless.
Steven Moffat responded to having both his current shows nominated. He Tweeted: “For all those of you who have asked, I will only be happy with an exact draw. I’m counting on you all.”
Doctor Who has won best drama every year it has been nominated since 2005. While David Tennant scooped four awards for acting during his time on the show. Sherlock has been a big success though, so Doctor Who has tough competition this year.
