Doctor Who Wins Best Drama, Outstanding Contribution Awards
Doctor Who scooped two wins at this year’s TV Choice Awards.
The show won the Best Drama Series category, beating competition from Call The Midwife, Downton Abbey and Waterloo Road.
Doctor Who also picked up a special ‘Outstanding Contribution Award.’ Steven Moffat, David Tennant and Peter Davison were on stage. Matt Smith filmed a special video message and thanked the readers.
Moffat said: “I’m receiving an award about Doctor Who from Doctor Who while Doctor Who is busy filming in Cardiff.”
Matt Smith lost out on Best Actor which instead went to the next best man – David Tennant for Broadchurch.
Miranda Hart, meanwhile, beat Jenna Coleman in the Best Actress category for her performance in Call The Midwife. Can’t win them all!
Congrats to the Doctor Who team for the win!
