Battlestar, X-Files Writers Join Torchwood
Writers for the fourth series of Torchwood have been revealed, and it appears the show will be getting an America shift behind the scenes, as well as on-screen.
In edition to Russell T Davies, the writing line-up features several US sci-fi veterans, with genre classics like The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to their names.
The list includes; John Shiban (Breaking Bad, Supernatural, The X-Files), Doris Egan (House, Tru Calling, Dark Angel), Jane Espenson (Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and John Fay (Children of Earth).
Jane Espenson confirmed that she will be writing two of the ten episodes, although it won’t be a two-parter.
In other Torchwood news, James Marsters – who played Captain John Hart in the second series- said he would like to return, but hasn’t been asked yet.
“I haven’t heard anything, but Russell’s over here trying to find American cast for it. If he doesn’t call me, I will find him. I will tickle him until he bleeds!”
Filming begins in January 2011 with a Summer broadcast.
