Doctor Who has been on location at Caerphilly Castle today, a familiar spot for the show having been used in many episodes over the past decade.
According to onlookers they were not filming Block 4 episodes, instead a minisode or “prequel” for Series 9.
Joining Peter Capaldi was guest star Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Bors (pictured below right), who is also set to appear in Series 9 opener, The Magician’s Apprentice / The Witch’s Familiar.

An unverified source has suggested that in one scene the Twelfth Doctor was talking to a ghost. One claiming it was Clara’s, though take this with a pinch of salt. Jenna Coleman was not on location.
Rachel Talalay, director of the Series 8 finale was also spotted, although she was not on directing duties. However she could in the UK for pre-production on a future block of filming, perhaps the finale once again.
