Sir War Doctor of TARDIS
Doctor Who TV would like to take a moment to congratulate (Sir) John Hurt for receiving a prestigious knighthood in the Queen’s New Year Honours.
The veteran actor was appointed for his services to drama after his acting career spanning over five decades. Of course, most Whovians will know him as the War Doctor.
Hurt said: “I was so surprised. I had no idea. I hadn’t done anything to encourage it, someone must have been saying very sweet things on my behalf.”
James Corden, aka Craig Owens in the Whoniverse, and Sheridan Smith, aka Big Finish’s Lucie Miller, are also to receive an OBE for services to drama.
Congrats to to them both!
