Filming has continued on Block 3 of Doctor Who Series 9 this week (containing the fifth and sixth episodes of the run), and a few intriguing details have emerged.
The post may contain mild spoilers. Spoilerphobes read on at your own risk…
Shooting has been taking place at the Cosmeston Medieval Village. Set reports from Wednesday appear to corroborate rumours that the story will take place in the Viking age.
Pics from Penarthnews show the village being transformed for the shoot, and boats being assembled.
Twitter user @DrWhoTARDIFA managed to get a couple of pics outside of filming with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman.
Of course we see that the trusty orange spacesuit is getting yet another outing! Peter Capaldi meanwhile is wearing another slight variant on Twelve’s costume that we glimpsed before.
As for Maisie Williams, the clothes she is wearing in this pic are her own. The character’s outfit was said to be a dress to match the era. Extras were wearing Viking helmets with horns.
Lastly for now, the recently unveiled robot might be called a Cyclone. Or at least this was something mentioned as part of the plot.
UPDATE: A first glimpse at Maisie Williams in costume:
UPDATE 2: Some pics added from Friday filming at Fforest Fawr, believed to be for episode 6. The time period appears to have jumped to the 17th century. Here Maisie Williams is under the guise of a masked highwayman who is robbing a coach.
UPDATE 3: Wales Online have posted some high quality images and a video from last Friday’s shoot here.
