Love the way Capaldi speaks I've got him reading audio books Wonderful.

Funny how that old logo is still used for merchandise and advertising. It is, let's be honest, the best logo, and I wish that they could just go back to using that

That was a yet another good Weird & Wonderful, filled with some good stuff. Thank you DWTV. :)

If anyone reading this enjoys watching fanmade Doctor Who trailers, then I'd appreciate it if you'd check mine out by searching for ahunter8056 on YouTube. I've produced trailers for each Series of Doctor Who, a trailer for Matt Smith's era, and a trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Specials (which was in collaboration with another user on YouTube who produces Doctor Who trailers, whose work has previously been featured on DWTV's Weird & Wonderful).

Please do give my trailers a watch. If you like what you see, then please subscribe. Thank you. :)

It's a shame we don't have confidential anymore as I'm sure the parts with Peter Capaldi would've been fun to watch

"but I'm not Cher." Wonderful. The way he uses pregnant pauses when he speaks is great.

Did anyone see in Peter Capaldi's message, when he showed the TARDIS, it had a slightly orange glow from inside... If that's the one being filmed in, do you think there'll be a new design??

Peter Capaldi is a very classy man!  I think that many of the Doctors were great ambassadors for the show.  Sadly not all of them, but a majority of them.

Is it me or did Mr C sound very much like Tom Baker at the end of his message when he wished the Glasgow School of Art students good luck..?

Oh Capaldi, what a lovely message he sent those students. He's already very much The Doctor in my eyes. ;)

That video message very touching and he is adorable, not only the message to the pupils. That first picture is stunning

The Highlight of today has to be that message - What a lovely man!

Any drawings I ever do of any of the Doctors tend to be of a similar quality to those of a four year old producing drawings their own parents wouldn't put on the fridge.

How dare other people have artistic talent... Humph.

People with amazing artistic talent like that make me feel extremely inadequate.

Even as he said I wish I could turn back time Cher was going off in my head...

The person who drew that first picture got Capaldi exactly right. I hope the BBC publicity picures will be like that without weird hand gestures. They don't have to try tricks like that to make him look great, Capaldi is an experienced actor and I don't know but the more I look at him the more I feel there's something very Doctor-y about him. He's the ancient time-traveller with a great love of adventure.

Seeing Capaldi's video-message makes me hope that he might make a video-diary during shooting, like Tennant did for each season. He comes across as such a warm and comforting person, which one of the many reasons I want to hear more from him about what he thinks about Doctor Who.

While I like the painted-looking first cover for the upcoming comic series, I'm not a fan of the look of an obviously traced photo. That is a problem I have with most of the Nu-Who comics, because I don't like comics where all the panels look like traced photos, since that tends to make many facial expressions look very strange. Sometimes people end up looking very odd and end up on the wrong side of the uncanny valley. That is why I very much prefer more stylized comic art, because I find it much more appealing when artists allow themselves to use exaggeration common to the medium.

Capaldi's obviously a much nicer guy than Malcolm Tucker. ;)

I think I say this this every Sunday, but I seriously envy the drawing skills of the people who has made the two first fanarts, they're awesome.

The message is lovely, I love it.

Let me know if you liked my title sequence! My one was the series 8 one :) I also made the classic themed one which was on WandW a few weeks back :)

I love how seriously Peter is taking his role as the Doctor offscreen - that video is lovely!

Loved the Trilogy of the doctor trailer and the Capaldi at Glasgow video

I really am going to cry if series eight begins with series 7 part 2's title sequence. Though not the best titles, these two here are still miles ahead of that awful mess. Also, love the first art work, it sets a really great mood that has echoes of Ten, One and something brand new, which makes me very, very giddy.

Capaldi's message to the art school.. that bit at the end, right before he goes into the TARDIS.. The modulation of his voice is SO Tom Baker.

TeriCrossChetwood
TeriCrossChetwood

@InfiniDaZa I think you're reading too much into it. It's not even the real TARDIS, just a facade with a light behind it.

@Temporal_Tomato It is EXACTLY what I have imagined for the Eighth Doctor down to a "T". Now all we need is a War Doctor sequence!

*grumble* Why did Livefyre remove the edit-function?

@DaveHartnell I really liked the vortex, especially how it changed and went all First Doctory at the end, though for some reason the video looks a bit too dark. I'd recommend brightening it up.

LaraHarris
LaraHarris

@Huknar I'd really like them to use the theme music version from the 50th "I've been running all my lives" advert. Really strong, lots of drums and strings, the kind that gets you all excited as it builds.

@Huknar We've had them for like 10 episodes. They're not gonna replace them immediately.

They just changed- another addition would just be unnecessary.

Am I the only one who likes the current title sequence? Even though I think it's fair to have a new version of them for a new Doctor.

@Huknar  I never liked Series 7's intro either. I wish they'd just stuck with Smith's first intro as it worked perfectly fine.

Unibot

@mrpaddy1984 I didn't notice that. You're right. It's very much Tom Baker. Even the little wave.

Huknar

@LaraHarris @Huknar I agree with you! There are one or two fan-made themes using that as a basis, check out Fallout Who Vegas on Whomix. It could work really, really nicely.

ahunter8056

@The Outer Space K9 I like the current title sequence, although I think the BBC can do so much better. It's definitely not one of the best, and needs changing in my opinion. They need to get rid of the pointless and unnecessary random spacey bits in the first half. I'd love to see a new title sequence for Series 8.

Temporal_Tomato
Temporal_Tomato

It's like when they went from Baker to Davison. From a classic, vortex based sequence to a slightly cheap, spacey one for the former's final season, before being associated with the next Doctor. In other words, this is already Capaldi's sequence. Personally, I don't mind it, but it certainly could have been better. The doors? The SMOKE TRAIL on the TARDIS?

Despite some previous flaws and issues Disqus has only improved over the past few months and remains a very useful tool for commenting. But Livefyre I've disliked since the very beginning, even before they entirely removed the option to edit comments.

Antee991166
Antee991166

@Notsosmartguy  @Antee991166 @Huknar  I don't hate it, but it just feels messy to me and slightly cheap. Smith's first intro was dark, stormy and a feeling of being ancient! Whereas to me Series 7's intro is just"Whoo! flashy lights!". That's just me though...
