Happy New Year 2020!

Welcome to the space year 2020.

2019 will hardly go down in the show’s history as a memorable year. With only “Resolution” to its name and the remaining 12 months free from any new TV episodes, fans had little to invest in.

Of course, Big Finish continued to release a whole host of exciting audio dramas (see our review round-up here) and there was a game for VR, but apart from that 2019 was a largely quiet year.

Thankfully, 2020 is starting in good form with just the first of 10 new episodes airing later today. The last series received a mixed response, to put it charitably. So fans will be hoping Chibnall has taken on board criticisms.

With some classic monsters returning, promises of multiple two-parters and a story arc for the Thirteenth Doctor, the signs certainly look more promising for Series 12. And we won’t have long now to find out.
