Capaldi on Track to Be “One of the best Doctors ever”
The Radio Times have today posted some info on Peter Capaldi’s debut series citing a “source on the show”. It’s very vague so spoilerphobes can read on without worry.
Here are the main highlights:
- The BBC are said to be “delighted” and “thrilled” with the five completed episodes so far.
- Capaldi looks on course to “make one of the best Doctors ever”.
- The storylines have started from “the bottom up” with Capaldi having a clean slate with little reference to his predecessors.
- “He is his own man – very distinctive.”
- The chemistry between Capaldi and Coleman is said to be “sizzling”.
- Capaldi will be “more distanced from his assistant, more of a mystery. Less a mate, and someone she looks up to. She has to try and gauge him – but dramatically it’s very satisfying and onscreen they work very well together.”
- Capaldi’s performance has echoes of Jon Pertwee, but he is also a Doctor for a “modern age”.
- “There is a real buzz about this Doctor, and of course the monsters are great.”
