Ncuti Gatwa Regrets Never Fighting a Dalek in Doctor Who, But Says He “Might Do That”

Despite Ncuti Gatwa exiting Doctor Who due to, in his own words, his old age and dodgy knees, he has admitted to having one big regret.

Appearing on yesterday’s The One Show, Gatwa revealed, “I never got to fight a Dalek. A Dalek or a Cyberman. So, I mean, just the crux of Doctor Who.”

He then added, “Yeah, so, might do that. Might go fight a Dalek.”

Of course, some fans were quick to jump on the latter comment, interpreting it as a possible hint at a return. Alternatively, he might have just been having a bit of fun, but with Doctor Who, you can never rule it out.

Still, there’s no Doctor Who to return to at present, with the show’s future very much in flux. Gatwa was, of course, last seen seemingly regenerating into Billie Piper, who hasn’t even been credited as the Doctor, leaving things decidedly up in the air.

With no movement from the BBC or Disney+, Doctor Who stands at its biggest crossroads in since the show returned in 2005.

Still, perhaps for the 70th anniversary in 2033, Gatwa might finally get that long-awaited Dalek or Cyberman battle.
