Davison Hints At Regeneration Limit Solution

Fifth Doctor Peter Davison has hinted that Doctor Who’s regeneration limit will be addressed and revealed that Steven Moffat has already laid the groundwork.

Davison said: “I know people are worried about it, but I think there will be a way around that rule.”

Intriguingly he adds: “I know that Steven has put in the groundwork already in an episode so that there can be more.”

Some rumours have suggested The Day of the Doctor will provide a solution. It would certainly be one way to secure the show’s future as Moffat tells us he is aiming to do, and what better time than the 50th anniversary.

If John Hurt’s Doctor counts as a true incarnation, it’s also something that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.
