Synopsis

Notes
This episode takes place 23 years after events of ‘The End of the World’ in the year 5,000,000,023 (five billion and twenty three).
On the commentary Russell T. Davies says that New Earth will be revisited in the third series.
The Face of Boe will tell The Doctor his parting message in the third series.
Zoe Wanamaker reprises her role as Lady Cassandra, last seen in ‘The End of the World’.
The BBC launched a series of 13, 60 second mini- episodes called ‘TARDISODES’ to promote the new series.
Two new tie-in websites were launched to coincide with the start of the new series, Leamington Spa Life Boat Museum and Milling Dale Ice Cream. The former contains a game to play by clicking ‘Old Rope’ , while the latter contains some hidden messages and clues. The BBC also updated the ‘Who is Doctor Who?’ website.
