Torchwood 2017
Could Torchwood run for another 7 years? According to Captain Jack himself, John Barrowman, that’s the plan.
Barrowman told the Scottish Sun: “I have turned down a load of other shows to make Torchwood. We’ll be filming it in LA as it’s now a collaboration between the BBC and the Starz Network in America. They’re planning to make it for the next seven years. So I’ll be spending six months a year in Hollywood and six back in the UK.”
Obviously, this isn’t a guarantee that it will happen, but it’s certainly interesting to hear the TV networks have a long future in mind.
Barrowman also joked that, should the show go the distance, he isn’t worried about his immortal character ageing: “Captain Jack turns into the hideous creature The Face Of Boe in the fullness of time so he won’t always be good- looking anyway. But I’ll keep playing Jack as long as I can.”
A series a year for the next seven would push Torchwood into its tenth series in 2017! How would you feel about the show running this long?
