The Doctors Mum?

Just who was the strange woman in white? That was one of the questions that went unanswered in The End Of Time.

The character credited only as ‘The Woman’ (played by Claire Bloom) appeared to Wilfred Mott several times in the episode and then later to the Doctor himself as one of the shamed Timelords.

Well writer Russell T. Davies has decided to clear up the mystery in new paperback The Writer’s Tale: The Final Chapter (Out on the 14th January).

“I like leaving it open, because then you can imagine what you want”, said Davies. “I think the fans will say it’s Romana. Or even the Rani. Some might say that it’s Susan’s mother, I suppose. But of course it’s meant to be the Doctor’s mother”.

So there you have it, official confirmation.
