Tennant: It Would be Fun to Return for 60th Anniversary
DWTV readers’ favourite, David Tennant, has been asked if he’s happy to reprise his role as the Tenth Doctor again, and he certainly doesn’t dismiss the idea.
“Who knows?,” he said in a video interview for the 10th anniversary screenings of The End of Time.
“There’s a 60th anniversary in a few years, and the question will inevitably come up. But it won’t be for me to decide.”
He adds: “It would be fun to do. Jodie [Whittaker], Peter [Capaldi] and Matt [Smith] are all mates now. It would be wonderful to be on set with them.”
Tennant also is keen to see Chris Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor back after he turned down the fun last time around: “Chris, I don’t know as well, but I’m a huge admirer of him and I always enjoyed meeting him. So, it would be fun if we were all on set together.”
“The more I speculate, the more I’ll end up getting myself into trouble.”
However, Tennant thinks that his returns are limited: “There will come a point where I wouldn’t be able to get away with it. I wouldn’t be able to fit the suit, or get my hair to stand up on end in the way I used to.”
Well, there’s always the Meta-crisis Doctor…
