Series 5 Scribes
The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine has confirmed the writers for all 13 episodes of the fifth series.
Steven Moffat (The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library) will unsurprisingly be taking the bulk of the run with 6 episodes, while Chris Chibnall (42) will be penning a two-parter.
Mark Gatiss (The Unquiet Dead, The Idiot’s Lantern), Gareth Roberts (The Shakespeare Code, The Unicorn and the Wasp) and Toby Whithouse (School Reunion) will all write one episode.
Completing the line-up are newcomers to Doctor Who, Richard Curtis and Simon Nye who will each contribute one episode. Both writers are known predominantly for their work on sit-coms so it will be interesting to see how they adapt. We already reported that Curtis’s episode will feature Vincent van Gogh.
