Series 13 Filming Date Suggests Another Long Gap

It looks as though there could be another lengthy wait for Doctor Who following Series 12.

According to attendees at this year’s Gallifrey One convention, producer Tracie Simpson revealed that pre-production on Series 13 begins in June 2020, with filming not starting until September 2020.

Filming on a series traditionally takes between 9-10 months to complete, then you factor in post-production. That logistically means the absolute earliest we could see Series 13 would be autumn 2021.

One consolation: there is still one special that has already been filmed that will air some time between Series 12 and 13.
