Peter Jackson for Doctor Who
The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director Peter Jackson is reportedly very keen to work on an episode of Doctor Who.
Matt Smith told The Waikato Times that he would love to film an episode in New Zealand with Peter Jackson.
Smith is reported as saying: “I think it would be an absolutely wonderful place to film Doctor Who. I’m told it’s glorious. I’m told it’s quite similar to England.
“Let’s get Peter Jackson to direct one and go and make it in New Zealand. I would love to, I will campaign endlessly to come over and film there. There’s clearly a great film industry out there. It’s something I would be very interested in, it’s just whether we can persuade the producers to fly us all over.”
The publication asked Peter Jackson for comment and he responded: ”I’m a huge Doctor Who fan, and I think Matt’s fantastic. Just name a time and place, and I’ll be there!”
Jackson has admitted he is a big fan of the show in the past and has recently been working with 7th Doctor Sylvester McCoy on on The Hobbit. McCoy plays Radagast The Brown, pictured.
