Moffat on Whether the Doctor’s Daughter Will Ever Return
Steven Moffat has said he isn’t sure whether fans will ever get to see the Doctor’s daughter, Jenny (Georgia Moffett) again.
Speaking in the new DWM (#506), Moffat says: “Which daughter? He clearly had a family on Gallifrey, so I don’t know which daughter you’re referring to. If you’re referring to the Doctor’s daughter Jenny, played by Georgia Moffett in the episode The Doctor’s Daughter, I have absolutely no idea!”
He continues: “It comes down to whether or not there’s a great story to tell. And since he already has a family there somewhere, why is that the best story? Having said that, Georgia is a friend of mine, and she’s probably reading this, and would like me to say that she’s my absolute favourite of the Doctor’s progeny.”
Moffat also dashed the hopes of anyone hoping for David Tennant’s “meta-crisis” Doctor duplicate to return.
”No [I would not bring him back]. Because if we were going to bring David Tennant back to Doctor Who – and I’m not saying we are going to – then we would bring back David playing the real Doctor, and not a substitute Doctor.”
