Strax returns in two episodes of the second half. He’s still in his tux in Mark Gatiss’ The Crimson Horror
Vastra and Jenny also return in two episodes of the second half. Looks like this is The Crimson Horror.
The obligatory I’m-running-away-from-explosion-doesn’t-it-look-cool scene.
Hard to pinpoint this episode. Can anyone identify this actress?
There is speculation that these monsters are redesigned Ice Warriors, as they have been rumoured to appear in Mark Gatiss’ submarine episode. However, they may actually be new monsters from Neil Cross’ alien planet episode. Later on in the trailer, you see the other creature behind them in the glass cage. In the second scene it’s with Clara and she is wearing the same clothes from the earlier alien market scene.
More than a passing resemblance to the Gentlemen from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Their clothing seems to point to Mark Gatiss’ The Crimson Horror (TBC).
Diana Rigg as Winifred Gillyflower in Mark Gatiss’ The Crimson Horror. She runs a mysterious factory where people are going missing.
This must be the entity from Neil Cross’ ghost story.
Obviously, this is from Neil Gaiman’s The Last Cyberman and the first official look at the new design. Clara attacks the Cybermen with a mace, but they grab it off her.
Guest star Josh O’Connor (Piotr) in the submarine episode. Is this an Ice Warrior grabbing him?
Diana Rigg’s real-life daughter Rachael Stirling (also playing her daughter) in Mark Gatiss’ The Crimson Horror (TBC).
In the middle is guest star Ashley Walters, who plays one of a trio of brothers called the Van Baalens. They are an intergalactic salvage crew who appear in Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.
Another crash…
Probably also from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.
This hideous creature was glimpsed earlier in the glass cell, being guarded by the other monsters.
“Is that her?” Asks guest star Sean Knopp (John).
The monks from the opener once again. On the painting of Clara it says: “Run you clever boy and remember”
“The woman twice dead.”
“She’s rather pretty, isn’t she.”
Guest star Celia Imrie in Steven Moffat’s opening episode, presumably playing a villain.
Doctor: “She’s not possible.”
Afraid, it’s true Clara. We really are going to have to wait four months to see this.
Given Clara’s clothing here, this is from Neil Gaiman’s Cybermen episode.
The horrible creature in the glass cell seems to like Clara.
Clara is grabbed around the throat by a Cyberman (the new Cyber-leader given the black?)
She probably dies. (The old Rory joke can apply to Clara now, OK!)
“Right then, Clara Oswald, time to find out who you are.”
And that concludes this exciting first trailer. Now we have to to wait again until April to see all this…
