YOUR Verdict on “The Witchfinders” – Practically Satanic

It’s time to reveal DWTV’s poll results for the eighth episode of Series 11, “The Witchfinders”, as voted for by you over the last week or so.

“The Witchfinders”: Stat Breakdown

As always, we asked you to rate the episode on a scale from 1 to 10. We then took an average.

  • A few thousand of you voted, and the average score was 6.65. According to the Doctor Who TV score guide, this indicates the episode was generally considered to be in the average area. After last week’s increase to the 7+ mark, we’ve dropped back down to what has become a familiar range for several episodes this year. (Coincidentally – or was it? – this score was so close to ending on 6.66, which would obviously suggest satanic intervention.)
  • This leaves “The Witchfinders!” as the 111th highest rated episode of the revival (according to the DWTV ranking polls taken from earlier in 2018). More specifically, it is situated between last year’s “Smile” (6.67) and Chibnall’s 2010 episode “Cold Blood” (6.64).
  • The standard deviation – which is our measure for how divisive an episode is – was 2.45. This still represents significant divisiveness, but for this series at least it’s on the lower end (in fact it’s identical to “Rosa”).
  • All in all, it’s another “okay” result. Not the absolute worst we’ve seen this year, but not too much better either.

  • 4. Demons of the Punjab – 6.85
  • 5. The Ghost Monument – 6.84
  • 6. The Witchfinders – 6.65
  • 7. Arachnids in the UK – 5.91
  • 8. The Tsuranga Conundrum – 5.17
