matt-xmas-10The BBC have released a provisional Christmas Day schedule and Doctor Who is currently listed in a teatime slot.

According to the listing Matt Smith’s final episode, The Time of the Doctor, will air from 5.30pm until 6.30pm.

Now this could change as it is provisional after all, but if it sticks it seems a little early for what is meant to be another event episode.

Last year’s special, The Snowmen, went out at 5.15pm and overnight ratings took a bit of a hit when compared to previous episodes which aired later in the evening. Occupying the primetime slots instead are Strictly, Call the Midwife and EastEnders.

The time is expected to be confirmed next week.
