It has been a long and agonising wait, but the countdown is almost over. Yes, Series 6 of Doctor Who is now just hours away! It all begins tonight at 6pm on BBC1 with The Impossible Astronaut, part 1 of the series opener. A strange summons reunites the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River Song in the middle of the Utah desert and unveils a terrible secret the Doctor’s friends must never reveal to him.

Meanwhile, we have results of last week’s poll to find out which story from Series 6 you are most looking forward to. Thousand of you voted and the final results are now in.

It was a neck and neck between the opening two-parter and A Good Man Goes to War, the mid-series finale, but in the end The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon took it with 38% of the vote. Well at least there’s not long now before you can see them. The Curse of the Black Spot received little love with just 2%.
