Series 7 Part 2 Launch Trailer Breakdown
We then get a nice close-up of the new look Cybermen…
…as they clench their fists in The Last Cyberman.
Doctor: “You have no idea what you are dealing with!”
This looks to be from The Crimson Horror and the Doctor is talking to Vastra.
This is the monster known as the Mummy from The Rings of Akhaten.
For those that have seen the recently released clip from The Bells of Saint John, you’ll know exactly what is going on here. For the rest, the Doctor lands the TARDIS on a crashing plane. Everyone including the pilot is, according to the Doctor, “asleep and switched off by the wi-fi.” He then has to try and land it.
The Rings of Akhaten again. In the background is young actress Emilia Jones. Her character name is presently unknown but given her prominence on the poster, it appears to be a big role. A royal of some sort?
Doctor: “I’ve seen bigger.”
Doctor: “Are you joking?! It’s massive!”
Ahem. Moving on…
The planet from The Rings of Akhaten has a moving face!
Another shot from The Last Cyberman, an extended version of the scene we saw in the first trailer. Clara joins a group of resistance fighters. Behind Clara is actor Calvin Dean who plays Ha-Ha (no joke.)
Notice the weaponry on the Cyberman’s arm.
The Doctor on a rope. It looks like he is descending into the vortex.
Could be any episode but Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS would fit.
The TARDIS is in an bad way again here. Most likely this is from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.
Arguably, we approach the most intriguing clips from the whole trailer as it wraps up. It seems likely these are from the finale, but given the lack of concrete details on the episode it’s hard to know for sure.
There has been a lot of speculation that the “thing” behind the Doctor is some sort new breed of Silent. There are similarities, the head shape in particular.
Is this the Fields of Trenzalore? The Doctor is in what could be a field in this particular shot. Only in the next shot, it looks more like a forest, but then the trailer doesn’t really tell the full story.
Doctor: “I am the Doctor…and I am afraid.”
The Doctor rarely admits to this, so something really must have shaken him up here. It’s also interesting how he is sans his bow tie.
Well, that’s a wrap. If you’ve spotted anything else, let us know in the comments!
