The Sarah Jane Adventures has received nominations in the prestigious 2011 British Academy Children’s Awards.

The annual Awards celebrate excellence in the art forms of the moving image for Children – from Film and Television to Video Games and Websites.

The series is up for Best Drama, against Combat Kids, House Of Anubis and Just William.

Phil Ford is also nominated for Best Writer against James Lamont and Jon Foster (The Amazing World of Gumball); Ben Ward, Steve Punt and Dave Cohen (Horrible Histories); and Simon Nye for (Just William).

The ceremony will take place on Sunday 27 November.
