Peter Jackson Needs a TARDIS (And a Dalek)
Earlier this year, director Peter Jackson pledged to work on an episode of Doctor Who in exchange for a Dalek.
The story was reignited last week with Steven Moffat suggesting it was “entirely possible” for this exciting prospect to become a reality. Moffat also mentioned potentially filming the episode in New Zealand.
However, Deadline has followed up stating with “100% certainty” that there are no immediate plans due to Jackson’s commitments on the next two instalments of The Hobbit.
The report adds:
“What has happened is this: Jackson has been given an open-ended invitation to direct an episode of the series if he was ever available. It did not progress beyond that. The director is completely engrossed in the second and third installments of The Hobbit trilogy, and he will not be emerging from Middle Earth for the better part of two years. “
So it looks like if this ever happens it’s a while off yet. Perhaps Peter should ask for a fully functioning TARDIS as well!
