10.4 million people tuned in to watch David Tennant regenerate into Matt Smith in The End of Time Part 2, according to early overnight figures. Slightly up on viewers for the first part on Christmas Day.

The audience, unsurprisingly, peaked with 10.85m  for the regeneration moment at 7.45pm.

The episode achieved a 35.5% audience share and was the second most watched programme of the day. EastEnders won the day again with 11.64 million with Coronation Street taking third with 9.79 million.
