Nice to see 7th Doctor getting some love. Some of 7th stories were rubbish but when they were good they were really good. And Ace is my favourite companion of the Classic era.

Yes, they used 7th stories in New Who, like "Human Nature" but you could see other similarities, like some elements of "Ghost Light" in "Tooth and Claw". And 7th rage at the Daleks in "Remembrance of the Daleks" was very "Family of Blood", and for a similar reason: Daleks wanting to steal Time Lord's power.

It's funny that DWM's won an Ace award, considering who's on the cover XD

*Love* the Bad Wolf symbol on a Paradise Towers door! Especially because one can easily see that script being made in the RTD era. It's great to see some recognition for a very unfairly overlooked era, which (along with fellow overlooked gem the Williams era's influence on the Moffat years) basically set the course for Doctor Who as it is now.

I am sick of seeing bad wolf somewhere on every poster on anything to do with Doctor Who. The arc's over, let it go!

Nice to see my favorite Doctor on the cover.

Sounds like an interesting retrospective too. I have always thought of the Seventh Doctor's era as a sort of precursor to New Who, with the way the Doctor's dark and hidden nature was later echoed by Matt Smith's version, Ace having actual character development, and a lot of the monsters and situations they tackled would've fit in comfortably in the new series.

I wonder how many more lyrics from Who incidental music DWM can use as straplines on their covers..?

The "Winner of the Ace Press Award" rosette on the cover seems quite appropriate for a cover photo of Seven :-)

I still think the 9th/11th Doctor cover is the best...

But looking forward to reading this one

It's called The Cruel Sea - a collection of some of the Ninth Doctor comics previously published in DWM. :)
