Doctor Who & Sherlock in NTA 2014 Shortlist

Sherlock Doctor MoffThe final shortlist nominations have opened for the 2014 National Television Awards and Doctor Who is represented in two categories.

The show has been nominated for Best Drama. It faces competition from Downton Abbey, Broadchurch, and Call The Midwife. Matt Smith is up for Drama Performance.

David Tennant also features in the Best TV Detective category against a certain Benedict Cumberbatch.

TV Detective

  • Benedict Cumberbatch – Sherlock
  • Idris Elba – Luther
  • David Tennant – DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch
  • Olivia Colman – DS Ellie Miller in Broadchurch
  • Suranne Jones – DC Rachel Bailey in Scott & Bailey

The awards ceremony will take place 22 January 2014 from 7.30pm on ITV.
