So "Mummy on the Orient Express" follows up on the phone call Matt was taking at the end of "The Big Bang?" Cool!

Can't believe Steve Thompson is coming back after the abominations that were 'The Curse Of The Black Spot' and 'Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS'

Yay for Peter! (But no one can replace Matt Smith, and no companion can replace Sarah Jane Smith.) Thankyou for this post!

Wow, this honestly looks like one of the best seasons on New Who! I'm hoping episode 10 is written by Neil Cross. It looks as if their is a big line up of interesting and unique stories for this season, I'm particularly looking forward to episodes 4, 5 and 7. It looks a as if episode three will be humorous and light hearted, which I'm fine with, as well as episode 6. To me, episode 7 is the most interesting by far. I have to learn a bit more about episodes 2, 6, 8 and 9 to make a decision whether I'm really looking forward to them or not. All in all, looks like a fantastic season!

I'm trying to think of reasons why EP10 would be delayed: (1) Script isn't ready yet - needs rewrites? (2) Scheduling conflicts, (3) Deliberately trying to avoid spoilers on something important until as late as possible - maybe an exterior shot of something vastly important.

My guess is that Moffat will write Episode 10, because in all other series, he writes 4 stories (not counting specials) TEH TBB TToA/FAS TPO/TBB                 TIA/DotM AGMGTW LKH TWoRS               AotD TATM TBoSJ TNotD           DB Listen (Ep. 10?) DIH

I guess episode 9 might be a Clara episode with the doctor dealing with whatever is going on in the tardis while Clara investigates the graffiti incidents .

Still have no idea whose writing or directing episode 10. Maybe they're fairly well known and popular so they're waiting for the right time to reveal them.

Or perhaps Moffat's teasing us more. As unlikely as that would be!

Oh man, so far this is looking like it has the potential to be one of the best series yet. That cyberman two-parter is looking like a real cracker. I'm also excited to see the mysterious 8.02 episode ("Lasagna"), the Mummy on the Orient Express, Kill the Moon... Flatline... *wheezes* *runs out of breath* ... *blushes* ... WHERE'S MY PUFFER!?

He describes episode 7 as "intense and emotional"

Could it be that the kid who is along with the ride dies at the end?

Trevor Cooper in the Robin Hood one.. nice, I like seeing actors from classic Who come back for the new series. He was Takis in Revelation of the Daleks. And of course his sidekick in that serial, Lilt, was played by the chap who was Lumic's head of security in Rise/Age. Name escapes me.

Does anybody know anything about Joivan Wade?

That picture of the shrunk TARDIS got me ridiculously excited ! I just love this episode already !

The Cybermen really need a great story, otherwise, yawn.

I get the impression that Episode 3, Episode 6 and Episode 8 will be the more light-hearted episodes this series. But who knows, it could all be a trick and they might actually be very dark.

Please don't be jack the damn ripper. Vastra ate him in 1888!...never thought I'd say that.

I adore both of those episodes! They are fantastic, exciting, thrilling, and just overall great. I don't understand their negative reputations.

@WillHaigh I'm pretty sure the only reason is that he's Steven and Mark's friend, considering they're the three that write on Sherlock. God, both of those episodes are my least favorites of each respective series. At least the rest of the season looks great. (Cybermen invasion of Earth! Into the Dalek! Dinosaurs on a...Victorian London...area!)

@TheOncomingStorm Only because Capaldi really wanted to fight the daleks... Moffat is still serious about giving them a rest.

SamiRahim

This is my opinion but The first Doctor I ever saw was the 9th Doctor, and the first enemy was the Daleks and Davros.

@SamiRahim Everyone is going to have a different opinion.  For example, I think Matt Smith was just okay but Dave Tennant was fabulous.

We said the same thing about David Tennant and look at how great Matt Smith was. I say we give Peter Capaldi the benefit of the doubt.

@Unibot EP 10 lists "a cast of child actors"  could be Clara's students from the school?  and it reminds me of the role children had with Torchwood's John Frobisher.

@Chris502 It could be highly likely that Deep Breath is a sort of prequel to AGMGTW when concerning Vastra 'eating' Jack the Ripper. That's if he is even in the episode.

TardisBoy

It might not be THE Jack the Ripper, but a copycat killer?

@Master Michael Moon @Chris502 I was wondering if Clarence DeMarco might be Jack the Ripper (although DeMarco's 14 women is more than the Canonical Five-Six victims attributed to Jack). That would make Deep Breath occur before The Name of the Doctor.

Whereas for the Doctor, "Deep Breath" come after "The Name of the Doctor"... golly, time-travel is fun.

A clockwork droid going round murdering people with the person who is really behind all of the attacks being revealed in the final moments....yes please o_o
