According to his online CV, Jack Lothian is penning an episode of Doctor Who in the second half of Series 7.

Lothian’s script is currently listed as being “in development.”

Lothian is new to Doctor Who, the second new writer after Neil Cross. His recent writing credits include: Skins, Beaver Falls, Sinbad, Death in Paradise and Doc Martin.

There aren’t many open slots left in Series 7. The officially confirmed writers so far are: Steven Moffat (5 episodes), Chris Chibnall (2 episodes), Toby Whithouse (1 episode), Mark Gatiss (2 episodes) and Neil Cross (1 episode).

Neil Gaiman, John Fay, Steve Thompson are all yet to be formally announced. It’s not unlikely for scripts to move around so perhaps some will be shifted to another series.
