Silva Screen have announced the release of the soundtrack album to Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol.

It’s unusual for a single Doctor Who episode to get a whole soundtrack to itself, but undoubtedly, the involvement of a certain Katherine Jenkins is one of the key reasons.

Tellingly, the only announced track is “Abigail’s Song”, which we will get to see Katherine Jenkins’ character, Abigail, sing in the episode on Christmas Day.

There are no details on the rest of the tracks at the moment.

The music is composed, as ever, by music maestro Murray Gold and performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Crouch End Festival Chorus.

The album will be released on 21st February 2011 and is available to pre-order now from Amazon.
