Welcome to DOCTORWHOTV. Here you will find news and information on the 2005 BBC TV series.
In 2003 the BBC announced cult TV classic Doctor Who would be returning to British TV screens. The ninth Doctor would be played by film and TV actor Christopher Eccleston and his companion, Rose Tyler, would be played by former pop singer and actress Billie Piper. Acclaimed writer and self-confessed fan Russell T. Davies would be taking up the majority of writing duties.
In 2005, after an absence of 16 years (separated only by a disappointing TV movie) Doctor Who finally returned. Episode one 'Rose' aired on Saturday 26th March at 7pm on BBC1.
